Notes On Building A Lithium Ion Battery Pack

Materials Needed:

• Battery Tester — test batteries under load
• Glue Gun — to glue batteries together securely
• [x number] 18650 Lithium Ion Batteries — could be Samsung or Panasonic
• Soldering iron
• Solder
• Paper towels — to clean batteries, etc
• Spot welder
• Pure nickel (or copper) conductor strips — to connect batteries (do not compromise for plated or impure strips because they are more resistant, which can cause more heat)
• Anderson cables
• Scissors — to cut conductor strips
• Shrink Wrap — to further secure the battery pack contents
• Goggles — protect eyes from spot welding sparks
• Foam strips — extra insulation for BMS mounted to battery pack (reduces malfunctions due to vibrations)
