Imagine you come across a wormhole.

There is a sign next to it that says if you jump inside the wormhole, you will immediate pop back up five years later in the same place.

You trust it, it seems legit.

Also next to the wormhole is a laser gun. There is an instruction manual next to it. You read the manual, it’s very basic and modern. It tells you in simple terms that if you blast yourself it will create a perfect clone of yourself.

You argue with your soon to be two of yourself. You agree with yourself that one of you will jump into the wormhole, even it is your original self.

You realize it is a pointless activity to do without any added bonuses, like why would you do something like this?

So you decide to do a sort of self improvement experiment.

You decide that once you clone yourself, you will debate with yourself what you should do for the next 5 years. It’ll be nice to get a little bit of extra help from your clone.

You blast yourself with the laser gun, and your clone appears.

You debate with your clone what you should spend time doing for the next five years.

Please spend a moment debating with your fictional clone what you’d like to do for the next five years…

I can wait for you, no worries….

waiting

Once you make a decision, your other self jumps into the wormhole. In 5 years you will return, and he (or she) will pop out, you will give him the run down of what you achieved, and your clone will tell you honestly how he feels about what you did with ourselves.

What do you think your clone will say about your progress?

After all, you are the greatest judge of yourself.
